Hello all, I can't seem to turn off cookies within safari. I deleted all the saved cookies, "reset" Safari, and set allow cookies to "never" in the preferences. Restarted Safari and within minutes of browsing the cookies start coming back...
I even went into the cookies.plist and manually deleted them and locked the file as read only, still the cookies return...

Not sure what I am missing, any suggestions? All of my software is up to date by the way. This may be the final push that moves me over to Opera or Firefox, not a fan of Chrome...

What version of Safari?

Safari 5.05 OSX Ver. 10.6.8
All software is up to date. I noticed gmail respects it and makes me turn the cookies on in order to use it. But youtube and other sites still freely save cookies no matter what I do.

Have you found any solution? I have the same problem, Safari 5.1, OSX 10.6.8.
