I never used Chrome before usually as I've always found Safari to be easier to use because it has the buttons at the bottom of the screen. But after updating to iOS 8 and finding Safari to be slower than before I tested Chrome and it seems to be lighting fast? Has this always been the case?

Can other people test and see if they get the same results. Clear the History/Cache etc for both browsers to make it accurate...

Wasn't the Safari experience the same in iOS 7?

As for Chrome being faster...do third party browsers now have access to the same fast JavaScript engine that Safari natively uses?

Sorry, what I meant was that I always use Safari over chrome because of the easier to use Safari layout. But because its kinda slower to load pages on iOS 8 I'm now having to use Chrome.
