safari and flash

Once again can you help I want to use safari, and was trying to listen to local radio station for storm warnings or view video on f book but I cant because of flash it says download latest flash I have done this various times this is extremely frustrating. I have apple it comes with safari and I cant use it, this is pathetic of apple.

I have Apple osx 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

Stupid question, did you actually download the installer from Adobe and actually run said installer?
