Safari and Google search

It used to be when I highlighted a word and right clicked the word, I could do a google search on it.

Now when I press google search it downloads something vs going to google on the browser.


What am I doing wrong? I can't seem to find anything in safari to change that.

I noticed this after upgrading to SL and is safari 4.0.4

It used to do that
NOW it goes into download files
and leaves a message such as

“search-19.html” is a web application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?

which ends up being a google search
but adds two more steps whereas there use to be one.



It didn't use to do this, it use to go right to google.

I don't want to have to click on a downloaded file I want it to go immediately into google like it use to.

Dictionary works fine but not
'search with google'

Did you upgrade anything recently or change some preferences?

I am not in front of my computer, but try going into Preferences and look for something that deals with search. Make sure Google is the search engine of choice and that everything automatic is clicked on.

Another thing...it sounds like there is some added level of notification that you turned on either by mistake or on purpose...that is letting you know about the search 'app' request. If there is some sort of option for that you recently changed...go back to the original.
