I use two things with Safari: FastScripts for cmd-# shortcuts for tabs in Safari like Firefox/Chrome do (which will not be necessary in El Capitan, thankfully), and Safari Keyword Search for keyword searching in the bar (e.g., "wp Spokane" searches Wikipedia for the article about Spokane and goes to it if/when possible).

As for the latter:

Safari Keyword Search is abandonware. The creator has nothing on his home page nor Github about it in years. There is a little bug where, rarely but inexplicably, it dumps all saved keywords, requiring manual reimports.

I've tried Omnikey and don't like it based on how it can't handle encoding of spaces in search strings, as well as for how it stores saved entries.

As for KeySearch: don't know how it handles spaces in searches. May be abandonware, as has not had a major update since was updated for Safari 6 years ago.

Glims: don't know if this is still around. Overkill anyway.

Does anyone have any other suggestions on the most minimalist, still-supported utility for keyword searching in the address bar? Nice to be able to "wp" and "i" and "a" my Wikipedia / Google Image / Amazon searches.
