Safari and plug in trouble

Im still having trouble with Safari and plugins.

If I go into Safari Preferences and un tick pluggins, I can then look at websites but cant watch videos and some pictures.

If i tick plugins box then 99% of sites crash and it then gives me the option to either re start Safari, or report to Apple.

How can i get it to accept plugins again so I can watch videos ect with out crashing?

Also I have a programme called DEVELOP on my tool bar, I have not seen it before untill just recently.
