Safari and tab groups are driving me crazy

I have no idea what I did or how to fix things. I have an older (2017) MacBook Pro and every time I shut down and then restart it safari opens up EVERY SINGLE favorite I have. I end up having to wait 5 mins for things to load until I can shut all the tabs and actually start using the notebook. How do I change this? What did I do to cause this???

Check your Safari Settings/Preferences. Sounds like you have new windows set to open Favorites instead of something else.
