seems like the way to avoid is to not use safari.......just swell- steve would so some serious damage to the safari gang
 
any extensions? are you running any adblocker, vpn, little snitch & Co.? Any URL where this is happening? what mac?
 
of course on extensions and adblocker and vpn --most, gmail commonly no I am not going to have pop ups ads and go without my protonvpn....it was fine before the update

maybe there’s an update for your extension etc. btw.

to trace this down it might be feasible to check wether any of it is responsible, but YMMV.
