iPhone safari bookmark missing search parameters

i'm having a weird safari issue in ios 11.2.2 on my iphone.

for example, i'm trying to bookmark this page in safari:
https://chicago.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=iphone

but the url that actually gets saved is:
https://chicago.craigslist.org/search/sss

it's missing the search parameter at the end of the url.

if i use the Copy function from the safari share sheet, the search parameter is again missing from the url copied to the clipboard.

however, if i use the "Add to Home Screen" function, the full url with parameter is saved with the icon on home screen.

i don't see this issue on ios 10. is anyone else was having this issue on ios 11?
