iOS 8.1.3 iPad Air 2

I use icloud to sync my bookmarks from desktop firefox (windows) to my ipad and its worked great since I upgraded to the Air 2 on launch day. I haven't changed anything and it worked fine yesterday but when I opened my iPad this morning the bookmarks bar was blank.

I checked the bookmarks folder and they are all still there but the favorites bar is now blank (where before I had some folders and bookmarks stored on the bar). The bookmarks are all where they are suppose to be on my desktop so I tried resyncing them but no luck the favorites bar is still blank (even though the bookmarks are still there if I open up my bookmarks folder). You guys have any idea whats going on? I tried rebooting the ipad, re-enabling the bookmarks bar in settings, resynced the bookmarks through icloud, but they still won't go back where they belong. Strangest thing is for a split second when I reload safari I can see the bookmarks on the bar but they disappear once the app finishes loading.
