Hi Guys,

I have just been having a right game to take my bookmarks.plist file from one mac to another (~Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist).

at first i thought it was working, until i went into safari and realised the file hadnt actually been updated...

then i started looking at the permissoins for the safari file and the safari folder, and they were locked out... is this normal? it made a very simple job a bit tricky for me being a mac noob...

will i always have these problems with moving stuff around? (my concern is that i initially thought it'd worked due to the sound it played, so how much other stuff have i not moved?)

thanks in advance :)

Yeah, moving .plist files between computers isn't really a good idea.

The proper way to do this would have been to go to File --> Export Bookmarks on the old Mac and save them as an HTML file. Move it to the new Mac and then go to File --> Import Bookmarks and bring them in.

oh ok, thanks for that :) it imported em in (but not to the right folders mind i had to drag and drop)

good stuff :)
