Sometimes I will be using Safari, particularly on Facebook, and Safari will randomly start refreshing the pages repeatedly over and over again without me doing anything. Anyone else have this problem? Any way to keep it from happening again? The only way I can get it to stop is by quitting Safari completely which is pretty annoying.

I have the same issue. Hope someone can help. I have the same issue using firefox too. Do I have a virus on my mac? Only happens with facebook right now. So annoying.

Nobody else has ever had this problem? *bump*

Well...I never heard this kinda problem before. And why you worry. There are too many browser available which is able to solve your problem. Use face book with Chrome or Firefox.

Do you know why you never heard of this kind problem before? Coz you never experience it like we do. Go to your safari, stay on your facebook homepage, then start chatting with your friends and you will see the refreshing error instantly. We are asking about the safari problem, why suggesting us other browser? are u a mac user?

It happens to me on Firefox once in a while. I don't know why.

I have Little Snitch enabled and I monitor everything that goes in and out and plus I even scanned for viruses but nothing.

Could be a browser problem.

does it happen on every site?
exactly which sites does it happen on apart from facebook?
what browsers have you tried?... Firefox, Opera, Chrome, et al. and are all the tested browsers up to date with version/patch levels?
what version OS X are yo using?

need more info.

I wasn't asking you to! I asked what other browsers have you tried? There is a difference! So don't start having a dig! :p

Having another browser doesn't mean you have to use it. But if you have a problem with your chosen browser then you can use the alternative. If the problem still exists in the alternate browser then you can more or less say it is not a browser issue.

If the problem only occurs in Facebook, then the problem is more likely to be Facebook and not Safari.

If you haven't tried any other browsers and have no willingness to, then how can you say Safari is the 'best' one. :p

Lastly, have you ever wondered how Facebook auto-updates your 'Home' page? ;)

I've had the same problem once.
What I did was quit Safari. And then opened it again to see if it was still doing that.
And it did. So I quit it again and reopened it.
After that, I went on to 'Clear History'.
But it was clearing caches and cookies that saved me.
Hope it helps you too.

Uhm, any college graduate can solve my problem here? perhaps some solution related to plugins, coding, updated version....instead of trying others "browser" (duh).

Oh thank you, rockizza08, here you go! That's solved everything but i think facebook programmers will soon fix it with new system update. Thank you again, rockizza08.
