Note the misaligned columns?

sample file:

http://apple3.org/Documents/Manuals/Apple III Owner's Guide.PDF

It displays properly in preview.

I've seen the same sort of behavior in a few other documents, like

perhaps the pdf rendering method shares something in common-- perhaps I haven't been reading enough non-vintage materials to notice the tearing.

Anybody else experienced something similar? Safari version 12, macos mojave, imac 5k (2014)

You're not the only one with pdf problems in Safari.

I've found that -some- (not all) pdfs display as a blank page (and nothing more).
I can EXPORT them "to a pdf file" onto the desktop, and then the pdf can be opened and read with Preview.
But in Safari?? -- just a blank page.

Again, I don't have the solution, but the problem isn't "yours alone".
