In iOS6, when I wanted to visit a bookmarked page, I could just start typing the location in the address bar. Most sites would only take 3-4 letters to show up.

In iOS7, Safari apparently can't see pages I've bookmarked even when I type the entire address up to the period, unless it happens to be the "top hit" for Google; Google search seems to be overruling my bookmarks in order to predict things I don't want instead of Safari checking my bookmarks for a match (in the only area where it's possible to type a web address).

This seems counterintuitive. Is there something I'm missing on this one?

Not sure why it's not working for you, it works for me perfectly fine with URL's from my favorites and bookmarks. If I type even just the first letter, safari will fill out the rest of it, highlighted blue, and also display it as a "top hit" below.

Works fine for me.

Try going to Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security > Smart Search Field > Search Suggestions and make sure it's set to ON.

Thanks, but this was already on.

Still not working. I tried shutting the phone off and restarting but it didn't help.
