I've noticed recently that web sites requiring authentication seem to "lose" the authentication rather quickly. I assume that the authentication state is stored in cookies created in Safari under iOS 5.1 and that are expiring much faster than my previous experience. Can't say exactly when I noticed this but it is definitely a change in behavior.

To wit: I use my iPad extensively for browsing this forum. I would sign in one day and that sign in would be effective for several days. Now, it seems that the authentication lasts only for a day or so. I've noticed this on Yahoo as well. Hard to believe that it is a coincidence.

Any insights?
