I have an M3 max MBP and Mac OS Sequoia problems with Safari: "This web page was reloaded because a problem occurred"

Iin Sequoia, Safari stops loading web pages after a day or so. Instead, it displays "this web page was reloaded because a problem occurred" **without actually showing the page contents** (the page keeps reloading …). When this happens, other apps (telegram, discord, chrome, etc.) also then seem to slow down, freeze up, or show as not responding. The only way to fix it is a reboot, which helps for a bit, but it returns randomly.

Have others seen this issue as well? In running the 1 password extension on safari, but it seems to happen if it’s disabled as well.

If you haven't already, you could try to clear Safari's cache from the Develop menu (⌥⌘E).
Develop menu - Safari - Settings – Advanced - Show features for web developers https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/ibrw1075/
Alternatively, you can close Safari and delete ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Safari/Data/Library/Caches.

Thanks! I’ll give those a try.

Forgot to mention that I was having this issue, and even wiped the machine and started fresh (didn’t restore from Time Machine) and this issue came back

I also have this problem.
MacBook Pro M3 MAX, Sequoia 15.2.

Strangely, when this Safari error occurs, I can’t do screenshots or iPhone mirroring either. Does this happen to you guys? Did you find a permanent solution? A restart temporarily resolves the issue it, but it always comes back later.

Can you guy try the standard steps from the Apple Phone support people. They tell me to create a new User account. Don't sign in iCloud or set up one. Just make a new account that you will delete later anyway. Then see if Safari does the exact same thing in that new Temp Admin Account.

Do you have the sound source app installed by chance?
Jumping on this reply. I do not have the Sound Source app myself, but I have other Rogue Amoeba products installed, like Audio Hijack, Fission and Loopback. And those apps share the Audio Routing Kit (ARK).
Did you find a solution? Was your Safari problem connected to the Sound Source app somehow?

I have the same issue on an M4 mini Pro after running for a few hours. Apps depending on webkit all start hanging.
I do have SoundSource and will try disabling it.

When that happens, search in Activity Monitor for "audio" and check if any process is not responding.

Maybe try the Technology Preview in addition. Would be interesting to see if it has the same issue. I think it's still the same version just another build. At the moment it's always older than the Safari in the macOS betas. So it's not really a beta or so.

I have 15.3 Beta installed and a higher version number.

Any luck? Was it SoundSource causing this problem?
