Safari crashes frequently after Mountain Lion

Is there any way to re-load or re-install Safari? It crashes repeatedly, usually within 10 minutes of opening. Thanks for any suggestions.

You first might want to try Reset Safari in the Safari menu.

Thanks. The crashes ceased as suddenly as they began. I'm not aware of having done anything to make this happen.

My Safari 6.0 hasn't crashed but it is incredibly slow. Loading MR, facebook, and other big time websites can take 20 seconds and still not load properly. Using Firefox and Chrome, there are no issues.

The only thing I can think of is I don't have Java installed. I removed it in Lion in the wake of security issues. Do you think this has anything to do with the slow load times?
