I'm still on jailbroken 2.0.2. Everything has been fine. The only thing(s) I've changed recently were to copy out the files in /private/var/mobile/Library/Safari so that I had a backup copy, and also, I synced my bookmarks to internet explorer for the first time. I don't think I've changed anything else that could have caused this.
Anyway, every time I click safari, it opens up straight to my bookmarks. If I click a bookmark, I see the bar start to load for less than 100ms and then it crashes to the home screen. If I try to close out bookmarks and type in an address, the second I click Go, it crashes to the home screen. If I try to do a search in the search bar, as soon as I click Go, it crashes to the homescreen. My safari is effectively useless.
I've tried restarting the phone and hard restart (holding home/power) and neither affected it. Once it stopped working, I grabbed the new myFox off cydia that is a web browser replacement for safari, and that DOES work to browse the web. Everything else so far on the phone seems nomal/fine.
Any ideas?
Oh yeah, one last thing.. dmesg reports this right after safari crashes:
I was sort of hoping I didn't have to restore to fix it, but I know that's an option.
