electricity went off suddenly in the midst of browsing in safari on an imac intel. ever since then safari opens and immediately crashes each time i click on a web link, click on the safari icon, or try to open from the applications folder. I tried deleting safari and reinstalling from another computer. is there a plist somewhere that i should delete to solve this?

Try deleting this file:

/Users/your name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

If you reinstall Safari, you should either download it from Apple or install it from your original applications disk. Copying it from another machine is not the best way.

Also, have you tried another browser (perhaps FireFox) to make sure your Airport settings or network settings aren't the cause of the problem instead of Safari?

Regards.
