Safari is crashing almost every time I open it now. I have done the following:
- reset Safari
- deleted .plist file
- uninstalled and manually removed all extensions

I've also repaired permissions and performed system maintenance. All other programs are running perfectly on my system. Safari is the only one giving me trouble.

Any ideas?

Safari runs flawlessly on my Mac Pro, but it's been a piece of junk on my Macbook.

Should try testing in another user account and making sure that you have version 5.0.3. You may also want to examine the contents of your /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins folders.

If it crashes in another account you may have to reinstall Safari from your install disc or re-download it from Apple's website using another web browser.

My wife has an account on the Macbook. Not crashing on her account.

The only plugin in my user/internet plug-ins folder is the Safari Evernote clipper.

There are several in the /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder:
- flash player.plugin
- flash player.xpt
- javaplugin2_npapi.plugin
- javaplugincocoa.bundle
- np-ppc-dir-shockwave
- nslQTScriptableplugin.xpt
- quartz composer.webplugin
- quicktime plugin.plugin
- silverlight.plugin

Anything suspicious?

Remove Evernote clipper. If crash still happens, post crash report. Include the Binary Images section of the crash report and the backtrace (numbered lines) for the thread that crashed.

I've eliminated every extension and plugin from Safari I was running (Glims, Evernote, 1Password, etc.) and it's still crashing all the time. It seems to especially crash on sites with Java or Flash. Any ideas?

Other thoughts:
1. Safari plist file /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
move it to your Desktop, start up Safari now
2. different user account
Make one if you only have one now.

I have noticed the recent release of Flash is unstable on some websites but not others.

Install Youtube5 to avoid Flash on Youtube, Vimeo, and Facebook. This will not solve the issue for all websites.
