iCloud Safari displays error logging into iCloud (Mac desktop), but Chrome doesn't

Hi I'm using a work-supplied MacBook Pro (not on a VPN) and I cannot log into iCloud... however Chrome on the same machine *does* allow me to... not sure how (or if) I can resolve this... has been happening for a while so not expecting a reboot to solve

MacBook is running 12.6.2 (version limited by workplace)
