Safari DL plugin

I've installed the plugin yet when I open safari and browse to a page with a video, when I tap the video to download it, I get "safari can't download this file" popup. Yet when I tap a zip file it asks me whether I want to save it or stream it.
Also how do you access any files you download? I can't see them anywhere on my phone, once I download them. What directory should I look in on my phone and how do I get in there?
