Safari download window...

Before safari 4, I used firefox and loved the download status bar extension.

Is there a way to suppress the window so that it doesn't pop up when you download a file.

try a Safari add-on called Glims. i know it can hide the Downloads window after a download has finished i dont know about always hiding it.
