Hello
ive an imac 2008 with mavericks mac os x
2.4 Core 2 Duo
4 Gb Memory
and i see in monitor activity and memory clean
Safari and Kernel Task Eating My memory
so my question is what is the best browser regarding this to avoid this problem
thx

How much memory is being used that you are concerned about it? It is normal for Mavericks to utilize most of the system memory available.

A lot of people like Chrome for a browser, but my experience has been is uses even more memory than Safari.

The memory is for the system to use, you should never worry about the system try to fully utilise your memory. As long as it didn't cause your any trouble (beach ball, freeze, crash, etc.)

Safari is the best regarding this problem. Unused ram is unnesecary. Unless you face a slow computer there's nothing to worry about.

Firefox is the worst of the bunch. On my machine, 146MB at invoke and nothing open. Safari using 170MB after several hours of use.

if computer is running close to 24/7, or Safari in active use for a long stretch of time during the day, can always quit/restart to "flush" the RAM being used.
