Does anyone know of a good safari extension that turns off shorts, recommendations, etc. in Youtube? Basically I'm trying to find a better way to use Youtube without clutter and a gazillion distractions.

Now that storage and memory are ample on present-day computers, there isn't any reason to not run multiple browsers. So, I recommend using the DuckDuckGo browser when looking at YouTube. It has a feature that blocks everything except for the actual video from YouTube pages. Once you've downloaded and installed the browser, go to Settings/Duck Player and select "Always open YouTube videos in Duck Player".

I've been using the DDG browser as my main browser on macOS, iOS, and iPad OS for months now without any problems (I reserve Safari for regularly visited, trusted websites and use Firefox with a full set of privacy and security add-ons when randomly surfing).
