Safari file dialog always in Column mode

Safari's file dialog (the one opens up if you want to upload a pic to a form box) always opens up in Column view mode. Any suggestions?

If the dialog doesn't have one of these icons, there isn't much you can do.

@bogdanw: Save dialog is fine. This only affects the dialog that shows up when I'm trying to upload stuff to web pages (like adding a pic to this post).
