Safari & Firefox forcing me to download QT content

I'm no dummy, but for some dumb reason, my 2 web browsers are forcing me to download all mpeg file types before listening or viewing. It's annoying because it never used to. It's especially bad with .m3u types and streaming content. Flip4Mac has no problems handling .wmv content in the browser windows.

Anyone know where to troubleshoot this?
