My Mac has got very slow loading internet pages. It's really only been a problem for the last few months but getting worse. The search criteria appears in the top bar but goes blue or grey and then freezes. A few points:

:(It affects both Safari and Firefox but Safari seems to be worse

:(I have reset Safari and removed all website data

:(The wireless signal is good - both my iPhone and iPad load pages just fine when next to the Mac

:(I have run the on-board wireless diagnostics which confirms that the internet connection is working correctly

:(I am using the following DNS servers: 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 which I understand are reliable.

:(I have tested the DNS connection in terminal window and it seems to be recognizing/connecting to the correct host IP address just fine

I'm not a techie so I don't really want to go digging around in the OS. Any help gratefully received.
