Morning

I have been having major problems loading images and thumbnails when using Safari and Firefox.

Struggle to load google maps and ebay thumbnail images in a search

Same goes for Youtube

Can some help?

I have tried re-installing both browsers

Sorry, but "having a struggle loading" is a very very vague description of your problems.

Is the computer experiencing heavy CPU loads all of a sudden? Is your cursor choppy? Are you getting spinning beachballs? Or is it just that pages are loading slowly.

I'm guessing it's the latter - in that case, it doesn't have anything to do with your browser, it's most likely a problem with your internet connection. If it's shared, check if anyone is hogging it with torrents or any other P2P traffic. Try to remove all other software that uses the connection, reset your network/internet equipment and if the problems still persist, call your ISP.

No it doesnt load the Thumbnails in Ebay/You tube etc

Sometimes happens with google images too

This is usually a sign of a crappy router, sometimes triggered by BitTorrent(but not required). Try looking for firmware updates. You can use Firefox with some special settings to see if the problem disappears:

Browse to about:config

network.http.pipelining set to true
network.http.max-connections set to 8
network.http.max-connections-per-server set to 3

Sorry to bump an old thread...

I'm new to Mac and I'm experiencing the same problem loading images on both FF 3.5.1 and Safari 4.0.2.

The browsers just get stuck for a while trying to load the images and some eventually fail with 'unable to load image', it happens pretty much on very site (as they all have images), but Google Maps is very problematic as it loads several tiled images.

My network connection is fine and all my other PCs have no problems browsing the net. Perhaps the Mac doesn't like some routers? I've an Airlink wireless router...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Thing

Airlink. My Airlink router went Airdead and I went with a refurbished Netgear router. Those things (Airlink) are horribly unreliable.

Did you try my settings for Firefox in the old response above?
