Just after I installed OS X 10.3.9 I noticed that Safari was treating my zipcode differently, and causing me to get error messages from web sites. My zip code starts with a zero. Let's say it is "01234". When I tab out of the field, or hit enter, Safari reformats it to "1234", a four digit number, that gets bounced by everyone for not being a true zipcode.

Has anyone else in the NE US had a similar problem? Seems very strange to me. Better, is there a fix?

Have you tried another browser to make sure the site you were using doesn'tt have a poorly written javascript validation routine? So if the same problem happens in Firefox, its that website.

I have tried Firefox, and I do not have the same problem with it as with Safari. So now I fill in my forms in Firefox and do my browsing with Safari. Inconvenient to say the least.
