Having issues with Safari (iOS 16-16.0.2) occasionally freezing on me. If I wait about 5-10 seconds I can scroll again. I can be on Safari for an hour and no prob, then out of the blue it happens. I’m not having this issue with other programs. I’ve deleted History, Rebooted, etc. is this a bug in iOS 16?

Seems like an iOS 16 bug. Mine doesn’t open at all. Just a big black screen on my new phone, my old phone, and an iPad. Awesome stuff. I’m going to contact Apple about it. Even when I try and navigate to Safari’s settings from the iOS settings, that lags too.

It works on and off, but freezes constantly. Doing a clean Restore of the phone fixed nothing. I wouldn’t care except that Safari is my main browser, mostly due to the ad blocking extensions which are superior to every other browser on iOS.

Same issue here. I will be using safari and then just the safari app freezes. Waiting does nothing. I have to turn the phone off completely to fix it and then it will happen again and hour or so later.

I don’t have it freezing, but for some reason it doesn’t render parts of webpages sometimes so they’re just black sections

This is happening all the time on my iPad. Very frequently, often every few minutes; Safari just hangs for maybe 20-30 seconds.

I have done all the usual things (clearing history etc.), but have no intention of reinstalling from scratch. It may be that I have too many tabs opened (dozens and dozens in multiple tab groups) — but it was perfectly fine before I “upgraded “ to iPad OS 16, and it started happening the moment I did. So it *might* be a coincidence, but ….

It’s driving me mad, actually. If there isn’t a fix soon, I might as well shift to Firefox or Chrome.
