Hey everyone. Every time I click on top sites or history, safari freezes up and I have to force quit the application. It's not allowing me to go any further.

After that happened, a lot of other apps have been taking forever to open, if they even open at all. Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Did you clear the cache and then this problem occur? If you did then reset safari and all should be ok. I think there is a bug in safari 5.1 that doesn't understand that the cache is cleared and it is trying to use it even if it is not there still. This is what happened to me in safari 5.1 in lion and i got rid of the problem by reseting safari, so try that.

You can also do a reboot and NOT save open programs.

Thanks. You're right. I just closed all programs and restarted, and although it seems to be a bit laggy, the freezing didn't persist.
