Safari "go back a page" button goes back several days?

I've been having a problem pretty regularly since 4.1 with the left arrow button that takes you back a page in safari. Many times if I hit the button to go back one or more pages, it will go back to that page but it is that page from several days previous. Ex: I just was on the MR main page (Nov 12) and after clicking on a story, I hit "back" to return to the main page and the main page from November 3 loaded.

I assume it might have to do with history or maybe cookies but I don't know how to fix it. I know I can delete the history/cookies but it seems like there is a bigger problem. Any ideas?

Thanks. I did a search but wasn't familiar with the correct terms. Glad I'm not the only one but there don't seem to be any ideas for a fix unless an update clears it up.
