Look like safari is taking up a bunch of RAM. Only 1 website open...

It always seems to take up a bunch of space...

Any ideas?

It's completely normal...Safari frequently eats 500-600+ MB of RAM on my PB with 1.5 GB RAM.

That doesn't mean it's the way it should be, but unfortunately that's the way it works.

Apple isn't capable of writing very efficient software, so that's how it goes... firefox eats a lot too, but not nearly as much.

Wow - that's a bold (and, IMO, largely uninformed) claim. I would Apple does a fine job of writing efficient software. And what's with lumping Firefox in with "Apple Software?" Apple has less than nothing to do with Firefox and its development.

Edit: It occurs to me that I could be misreading your tone and meaning in a huge way, and if I am, I apologize for the snappy response. If you didn't mean it how I read it, how did you mean it?
