Safari history not working since last update

Has anyone else got this issue, where the whole history is missing from safari. It doesn't have a history log, or remember any details?

safari 3.2.1 and 10.5.6

There's something very odd about this update, not just for you and me, but for a bunch of people, scattered over a number of threads here. Basically Safari seems to be able to randomly forget or remember cookies and history. So you're logged in somewhere, then ten minutes later, you're not -- Safari lost the cookie. Same with history -- I'll erase it all (reset safari) then the next day, it's all back again. I've had to ditch Safari for now; I don't think it's safe.
Online banking is affected too, apparently. I'm hoping someone figures it out soon.
