Safari homescreen stuck with foreign default sites

I went to a trip to Taiwan, and ever since then the default sites on Safari
(the ones that show wikipedia, google, icons etc) have now switched to redirect to their Chinese language variants. It even has Baidu as one of the options.

How do I change this?

Googling has resulted in going into Settings > General > International and making sure its English..
but it's already set to English and the US.

Have you gone into the Safari settings and cleared the history/cache and cookies?
