Is there any way that I can make this icon stay in the dock permanently? Occasionally it will just be gone and I have to drag it back from the apps folder. I use the track pad allot so my fingers will often drag an icon off the dock when I don't realize it.

Thanks

I have Cocktail for maintenance and I lock all my icons in the dock with that. For my PPC I use Transparent Dock, but that doesn't work on Intel.

That only stops it from disappearing when you quit. It doesn't protect against accidental drags.

Why does anyone need a program to protect from accidental drags? Just drag it back on (from your Applications folder) or do as mistermaker suggests. It's not a hard thing to fix.

I found it very annoying. Yes, I use Quicksilver, but I also use the dock. I definitely appreciate the icons not moving. Sure, it's not hard work to open up the Apps folder and drag them back in - it's just annoying.
