So I'm using Safari, Opening one or two different windows, and everything is fine. But when I go to close a window, it locks up, solid. I can press the home button and get back to the home screen, but when I click back onto safari it is still locked. I can't scroll through windows or even just get one to close. Sometimes, on occasion, it will close the window I'm on, then run VERY sluggish on all my other windows. I've cleared all my history and cache, I've even gone as far as restoring my phone, and not from backup.

Any Advice?

Try force quitting Safari when this happens, hold down the sleep button on your iPhone until the red slider appears, and then press and hold the home button.

So I'm stuck in traffic and ask my wife (never used iphone) to go to googlemap in safari for traffic. She taps about eight pages open and locks up the Safari

Thanks for posting the answer for me to find :D
