I haven't been able to find a solution in the forums on this.

I live in Japan. I wanted to check the skype.COM website today BUT safari keeps changing the URL to http://skype.com/intl/ja/. And I don't know why or how to prevent it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

Doesn't the same thing happen in any other browser? I don't think it's Safari. You navigate to skype.com, and Skype's server checks your IP address, determines your country, and auto-redirects you to the country site. The only way I know to frustrate that is to use a proxy service from another country....

mkrishnan,
thanks for the response. I see, so it's skype's website that is redirecting me.
Is finding or using a proxy easy?

Any information you have would be great, because I don't know anything about it.

I live in Japan. When I go to Skype, I see this URL:

http://www.skype.com/intl/en/

Try this.

Log onto your Skype account.

Go to the account settings. Make sure that you've check/selected International English. Setting is at the bottom of the page.

BTW, my country is set to Japan and my language is set to English.

Hope this helps.
