First off, I apologize for using this as a tech support forum, but I'm a longtime Apple user, and this one's got me, so I was wondering if any off you savvy types out there could help. Last night, I went to upgrade my G4 Mac Mini to 10.4.7, and the update would not complete. I thought it was strange, but I'd try it again later. Well, I went to use Safari, and lo, and behold it was dead. The icon jumps once in the dock, the settles and the application never launches. When I go to my applications folder and try launching it from there, absolutely nothing happens.

In addition, the update to 10.4.7 simply will not complete. Anybody else having this problem? Any ideas?

I had the exact problem...

Check your logs, does it say I/O Error?

There was no recovering from this for me, Disk Utility and DiskWarrior were unable to fix it. I had to erase the drive and restore from my last backup.
