Safari Issue with youtube

Hi All

But of a strange one here, youtube has all but stopped working in safari for me (sort of). If you go on to youtube i get the normal listing of video etc, i click on one to play and i get a blank page. Here is the strange part, if i log out of youtube and play the same video again it works. As far as i can tell youtube is the only site am having a issue with, although i only found this out today. I have tried this in firefox and there is no problem at all whether am logged in or out. I have cleared the cache and the cookies and i still have the problem. Any ideas anyone???

When you get the blank page, try "command-R" ("reload").
See if the page reloads with the video then playable.

unfortunately that does work
first thing i tried, i think this has started when my mac updated the other day and it might have updated safari as well
Forgot to say am on 10.14.6 (Mojave)
