safari & iTunes in fullscreen

I finally bought an iMac 27" today. very excited! i have a problem that i am starting to think is the norm...how do you make itunes & safari fullscreen????

iTunes: Option + Zoom (Green Light)
Safari: Move Window To Top Left; Drag Bottom Right Corner All The Way To The Bottom Right

I understand iTunes, but why Safari? Resizing a browser to fit the entire screen is useless in my opinion. You are just left with an ugly 600 empty pixels, 300 on each side of most websites.

I'm new to the iMac too. I think you'll find wanting everything full screen is a legacy of the Windows OS. When I first started playing with my 27" iMac I wanted everything full screen too, but now I see the advantage of just using enough screen real estate to be able to view the contents of a window.

Of course having 27" to view on helps too
