OS X 10.5 Standard Safari, not the beta, and it keeps freeking out, 100% cpu usage and just locks up. Ran disk utility and repaired everything. Doesn't do it right away, about 3-5 min into using a session. No clue whats up.

What happens if you uncheck the "warn when visiting a fraudulent website" box in the Safari Preferences ---> Security Tab?

I don't think the Safari version that OP is using has that feature. He says he is not using the beta version. I might be wrong about the non-beta version not having it.

Well all the websites i go to are the same as the ones i used to go to before it got mad and would lock up.

Try my suggestion. This hint has been suggested on various other Mac forums, and it worked when I tried it.

O concur, it may or may not be the solution, but it sounds awfully similar with the problem of firefox 3.0 had on Linux.

also, do a reset of safari as well.
