Safari lagging

When I type in a new URL in the address line the progress bar stops just about all the way through the address. I have to click on the address line and press "Enter" for the web page to come up. The speedtest.net shows ping at 32 ms, download at 17.13 mbps and upload at 1.68. WiFi signal is at 80% (good).

Any ideas why I am experiencing this latency?

Yes, same here. Since 10.9.5, Safari seems not to "get" what I type in the URL bar. Sometimes have to press enter twice, sometimes some letters get lost... and it happens ONLY in the bar. The rest works perfectly.
