I got the latest version of Safari running on (iBook-OSX Panther 10.3.9). Also run Firefox and Camino for testing.
At the moment Safari its by far the slowest to load up. When I start it gives like a 25 second delay to load up. This problem is basically from the beginning of the OS load up. Thought it was the version and when an update was available I installed it and it did the same thing. When I load it in my LAN with a 80211 G connection to DSL 512k it gives the most delay like it is searching for connection to the homepage or access to Internet. When I am at work that I connect with 80211 b with a T1 access to the internet it does not have the problem. Thought it was my network but tryed to load it up in other networks other than my work connection and gives the same delay to open the browser.
I have no problem using Firefox as the default browser but would like Safari to deliver the optimal performance in loading up at the same time as other browsers in my systm.
Ibook(10.3.9)
512k of RAM
1.4 G4
Thanks in advance
