Safari magnet links not working

Hi there guys, this has happened recently and I don't understand how to fix this. I have been using transmission along side safari for years now, and just yesterday as I click on magnet link the page switches to the "Top Sites" window and never loads up transmission.

It also loads the Top Sites window when I try select the "Show History" command in the history drop down menu.

When I use google chrome the magnet links work like normal, someone steer me in the right direction to fix this?

I've been having the same problem since then too, I had a Genius appointment the day it stopped working and I put it down to something they did with the system. I've been checking settings since then and googling like crazy trying to figure out what's going on. My husband would also appreciate an answer just to shut me up.

I use uTorrent so I don't think Transmission is the problem and I also get the Top Sites window when I click on them.

I'd also appreciate any help/advice anyone can provide, meantime I think I'll download Google and get on with my life.

easy fix!

When the top sites tab pops up, scroll to the bottom and there is a small banner/button at the bottom that says "Disable this custom page" when I clicked that, everything was working again!

found a fix for magnet links not working in safari

installed this extension and everything works perfect again. cheers!
