Safari - make tabs active

I have the "make tabs active when opened" option checked in Safari, as I like to Command-click on links to open them in new tabs. Some sites override this and don't make the tab active.

Example here:

If you Command-click on "Discuss this review in our forums," it will open a new tab, but it won't make it active. Is there a way fix this?
