Safari network activity never stops with search engine suggestions

I’ve found that having search engine suggestions turned on will cause the network activity indicator to continue indefinitely. If I kill and start safari and go to a website directly, no problem. It only seems to be if search is involved. Anyone else seen this?

I don’t know if it’s search suggestion related, but I have seen Safari’s network activity spin forever periodically.
