Is there any possible way to add a New Tab icon in the address bar or something? Not having that is pretty much the only reason I use Firefox.

Any reason for wanting to have a button to do it?
You can Command + Click to open a link in a new tab, or press Command + T to open a new tab.

If you type out a URL and you want it to load in a new tab, simply press COMMAND-RETURN instead of just RETURN. 
And of course this is assuming tabbed browsing is enabled in the Safari preferences.

Nevermind, I found a program on Versiontracker that adds the ability to add a 'create a new tab' button to safari. If anyone wants it, here:

Keyboard shortcuts are for n00bs. Having to go that extra distance and pressing and extra button and a click is WAY too much. The button is easier.
