Safari no longer gives me the top hits it used to

I've gotten used to just typing 1 or 2 letters in the address bar and hitting the top hits result for the site i want to visit, but it no longer gives me the hits it used to and mostly gives undesirable results.

example i only like to view reddit sorted by New
i type in "re" and i used to get:
reddit.com
reddit.com/new

now i type in "re" and i get:
reddit.com
reddit.com/notifications/comments/

even tho, i hardly every go to the notifications page. and reddit.com/new never comes up as a suggestion even tho that's the one i go to the most.

another example is macrumors. it never gives macrumors home page as a result, even tho that's what i visit the most. it only gives me the forums which i don't really go to often.

same is true for every site i visit frequently. some don't even get suggested anymore even tho i visit them the most.

anyone experiencing this in iOS 14?

damn it, i updated to Big Sur and now i'm getting bad results in the address field suggestions on mac too.
